FAQs
What options are available for extended data history?
You must be on the Pro or Premier plan to purchase our data history add-on. You can buy up to two additional units, each unit adding 12 months, for a maximum data history of 37 months (36 months + 1 extra month). Contact your Customer Success Manager or Sales to get started.
Why does Heap provide one extra month?
We add one extra month to make sure you can always analyze full calendar months without partial months. For example, by providing you with 13 months of data history, you can always analyze a full calendar year at any time.
What if I need more than 3 years of data history?
Heap Connect allows you to sync the data you care about to your own data warehouse, giving you full control over how long you keep it.
Does data history include my Heap Connect data?
Data history only concerns data in the Heap app, it doesn’t affect your Heap Connect data or how far back you can look into your Heap Connect data.
Can I query my data from my data warehouse using another tool?
Yes. Depending on your data warehouse, you can use various BI tools to access and analyze your Heap data.
I think there’s a problem with my data history
Please contact Support and we’ll help you align your plan to meet your data history needs.
Is data older than my data history limit deleted?
Data older than 37 months—or your data history limit, whichever is greater—will be automatically deleted. Please contact your Customer Success Manager or Support if you have questions regarding data retention.
What’s the difference between data history and data retention?
Data history is the number of months of data you can access in the Heap app. Data retention is how long Heap keeps data before it automatically deletes it.
