[Classic] How do I block bot behavior from being captured in session replay?

Many of our customers run Heap on public-facing, content-rich sites, and robots can generate unwanted sessions.

Heap blocks a list of 100+ common bot User-Agents by default. A list of these bots is available to customers by request.

Additional Bot Filtering

If you suspect bot sessions have been captured by Heap, do the following.

1. Group by the suspicious sessions using User-Agent and check if the User-Agent string contains anything that looks like a bot.
2. Navigate to Account > Manage > Session Replay > General Settings and input the additional User-Agent substrings in the box under Filter Out Sessions From Bots. If the string you specify is contained at all in the User-Agent reported by the robot when it visits, we won’t capture the data.
