Global footnotes

Overview

Add date labels to all your Usage over time charts to mark events like ID changes, feature launches, or system migrations.

Once a global footnote is added, viewers will see a blue line on all your usage over time charts indicating a global footnote is present for that date. If a chart with a footnote is in a dashboard, you can also see the chart's footnotes from the dashboard view.

Global footnotes exist at the project level.

Managing global footnotes

Only Admins and Architects can manage global footnotes.

Navigate to Account > Manage > Global footnotes (under Data governance). You can view, add, edit, and delete all of your Global footnotes from here.

Managing Global footnotes from a chart

Hover over the date where you want your new footnote and click Add footnote. Add a description, and make sure to select Make this a global footnote before you click Save

Your new global footnote will have a globe icon next to it:

Edit or delete a Global footnote

Existing "regular" footnotes can be changed into global footnotes by editing them and selecting Make this a global footnote before you click Save.

Click on your footnote to edit it, or delete it by clicking the trashcan icon.
