Data history refers to how many months of past data are accessible to you in the Heap app. This includes data in charts, dashboards, and event creation. The amount of Data history you have is determined by your Heap plan. For example, the Growth plan includes 12 months of Data history.
Data history only affects the Heap app, and does not affect your Heap Connect data or how far back you can look into your Heap Connect data.
If you are unsure about what your Data history is, or if you require more Data history than what is currently in your plan, please reach out to your CSM or contact support.
Why did I receive an email regarding Data history enforcement?
We’ve completed audits to understand which accounts did not appropriately have Data history limits in place and have notified affected customers. In order to ensure continued high-quality service for analysis, we limit Data history access to the terms in your plan.
What options are available for extended Data history?
To access data beyond 12 months, you will need to purchase additional Data history by reaching out to your CSM or contacting sales. Each unit of Data history provides an additional 12 months of Data history.
Additionally, Heap Connect is available to sync Heap data to your data warehouse.
I think there’s a problem with my Data history limits.
Please contact our support team and we will help you align your plan to meet your Data history needs.
Can I query my data from my data warehouse using another tool?
Yes, Heap Connect has options to query your data using other tools in your data warehouse.
What is Data retention?
Data retention refers to the data Heap stores on behalf of our customers. Data that is outside of retention limits will be deleted. Data retention varies by plan and customer but always will meet or exceed Data history limits. Please contact your CSM or support if you have questions regarding Data retention.
