What happens when I change the name of a synced event or category name in Heap Connect?

This doc is for: Admins Architects

When updating an event or category name, you may see the following pop-up warning you that the event is synced in Heap Connect:

What happens next varies based on which platform(s) you are syncing this event to.

BigQuery & S3

If you move forward in updating the event or category name, then the data will be fully re-synced to a new table during the next sync and the previous event table will be removed. After that sync, the all events table will also update all rows related to this event to the new event name.

RedShift & Snowflake

If you move forward in updating the event or category name, then the event table will be fully re-synced with the new name during the next sync. After that sync, the all events table will also update all rows related to this event to the new event name.

Note that depending on the table size, this next sync duration may be longer than previous syncs.
